LOST SHEEP. There are times in our life when we need a shepherd more than ever. Psalm 23 is reminder that our Shepherd hasn't lost us. Shepherd of life, Psalm 23

I’VE BEEN CREATING short videos of important Bible chapters and adding them to the Casual English Bible. This one is perhaps the most revered chapter of all.

When we’re dying, this is the song we sing.

I read it a few weeks ago to my brother, who was in a coma from what became a fatal heart attack.

I read it in my father’s last hour.

My father-in-law died as our pastor read it to him, with the family huddled around.

When we face our greatest fear, this is where we go for comfort and courage.

This is an updated paraphrase of a beautiful Hebrew song, Psalm 23.

It’s hard to update a classic Bible passage. But new generations need to hear God’s message in their own words.

I hope I did it justice, as I paraphrased it for the new and free Casual English Bible.

You be the judge.

Thanks for watching.

Thank you Steve….Psalm 23 is very comforting. I also sang “His Eye is on the Sparrow” every hour to my mother as I gave her liquid morphine to ease her passing. It was only through those lovely words and the work of the Holy Spirit that got me through that tough 2 days.

I know something of the feeling, I’m sad to say. Peace to you, from the kindness of our God.
