WATCHING GRANDKIDS and making maps for Genesis in the Casual English Bible, I again ran out of day before writing the blog article.
What to do?
Show a picture of another map?
Show a picture of smiling grandkids?
As if the map ever had a chance.
We’ve got so much bad stuff going on in our country and in the nations beyond us.
Sad stuff. Angry stuff. Tragic stuff.
We cry. We cuss. We yell at the TV, Twitter, and twits who tweet.
Then someone smiles.
An innocent, though possibly with poopy pants, which is much more tolerable than someone with a poopy heart.
It’s contagious. The smile.
And the poopy pants, if accompanied by the proper virus.
My wife and I sat on the couch yesterday, blowing up balloons and watching our grandkids laugh as they let the air out and sent the balloons zooming and careening around the living room.
“A cheerful heart is good medicine” (Proverbs 17:22).
I know it’s true.
I spent much of yesterday laughing because of it.
There’s a time to cry.
But it’s not while blowing up balloons for our children and grandchildren.
Peace to you.
