“Good souls have nowhere to go.” It’s a line in our newest song, releasing tonight.
Most songs in the Bible aren’t happy songs. Life was tough.
It’s still tough. Especially today. At least half the nation seems scared to death. Rightfully so, I’d say.
Psalm 46 is a melancholy song that talks about this kind of fear. So, we gave it a melancholy tune with lyrics fit for a divisive day in our moment on the timeline.
With the help of AI, we’ve been writing songs that we add as resources for the Psalms in The Casual English Bible®. They are my lyrical interpretations of individual psalms, or parts of them.
This song we’re releasing tonight is a tough one. It’s called “Lord, Have We Lost?
The song has already been picked up by playlists (and rejected by some). Here are a few of their comments. They sign with only their first name or initials when they write their critiques.
Critics Corner
“I love the light intensity of this track and positive message. There’s a swooning emotional energy and power that radiates the entire time, especially in the vocal. Not quite the right vibe (this is more of a serious tone) for the more whimsical beach country playlist, but this oozes true emotion and feeling. .. and you’re clearly living a worthwhile lifestyle by choosing this subject matter! Though it’s not a fit for this particular playlist, this is wonderful art and praise … and is the right song for the right playlist… Keep making great music and God bless.” MT
“Thanks for submitting your music! Loved the guitar work and the arrangements, so intense and immersive, very well done. Sadly the vocal melody didn’t fully get me I’m sorry. Keep up the good work! :)” Safe
“Oh my God! This beautiful melody took my heart away. What a perfect choice! What an incredibly beautiful voice! This voice comes from the depths of heaven, from where every being finds peace. This voice is amazing. The lyrics are beautiful. The mixing and mastering are at a perfect level in my opinion. The harmony in every detail of this work of art is well underway. Your mastery along with your amazing and heavenly voice has made this work like a special diamond. I look forward to receiving more songs from you in the near future. You are the most special. You shine incomparably and perfectly.” Aron
OK. I’ll take that, though I only sang the backup to the lady’s voice.
Music video
I released the music video a week ago because the timing of the national protest made the song all the more relevant. So, I chose not to hold the video for the song’s release.
Improved website coming
We’re probably just a few weeks away from launching a Casual English Bible website easier to maneuver. There’s a lot going on here and it gets confusing sometimes, to you and me.
Once we launch the new website, we plan to celebrate by releasing an album of songs that are based on the Bible Book of Psalms. Between the paraphrasing and the map making and the songwriting, we’ve been busy.
