WHAT COMES next week is the end-time book of Revelation for the Casual English Bible, and not the end of the human race, far as I know.
I got a note from a reader a few days ago:
“Where are you? I miss your writings especially in today’s atmosphere.”
Relax, I’m alive and well and as upset about the state of the State as everyone else who gets their news from reliable sources such as the Associated Press and Reuters. Political and spiritual leadership has retreated to the abyss, it seems. Little is said by people of power about the elephant on the ninth hole who, clearly, is three putts shy of a bogey.
I’ll be talking about that in the next few weeks. I’m writing the script now. Actually, the news writes this script. I’m just going to add some Bible to it and put it on video.
Eyewitness to Crucifixion
Meanwhile, my next book, Eyewitness to Crucifixion, is in the hands of the designer. She has the job of piecing together all the quotes and stories I pulled from ancient Romans talking about crucifixion. She has a stack of color images to work with as well.
The book is coming in early February. It’s already available for pre-order. Here’s the promo the publisher wrote, and I understand I’ll be doing a video promo as well.
Best-selling journalist Stephen M. Miller was curious about crucifixion—the brutal method used to execute Jesus Christ. He dug into eyewitness testimonies from Roman history about the cross, and then he shared his findings in a short YouTube video. It was a viral sensation, with over 1.3 million views!
Now for the first time in book form, Miller reveals his fascinating full work, shining a spotlight on the shadowy history of Roman crucifixion. In Eyewitness to Crucifixion you’ll:
-
Gain new understanding from real people who actually witnessed the horror of the cross
-
Discover previously obscured scholarly knowledge, now translated into casual English for everyone
-
Examine the historical context for the Christian faith as seen through first-century eyes
-
See for yourself the unvarnished, un-hyped truth about crucifixion—and make your own decisions about related, current controversies of faith
-
Learn more about the historical Jesus and his mission
Other projects and little people
I’m also helping another publisher with a book series. But I don’t know how much I’m allowed to say at the moment. I haven’t seen any promo about it yet. The books are in the writing stage now.
As for the Casual English Bible, I have most of the New Testament and Genesis finished. What I have left is the book of Hebrews (not easy or short) along with a few small books like Jude and 1, 2, 3 John.
When the New Testament is done, I’m going back into the Old Testament. Proverbs first. I’m itching to tackle those one-liners.
On top of all this, I’m the grandpa of 4 children ages 1 and 3 (they came two at a time, reminiscent of the Flood). And they live 10-15 minutes from my front door. Lucky for me, I see at least one of them almost every day. My wife and I have helped watch them while the parents work.
So, that answers the question of where have I been.
I’ve been working and playing. And I’ve been suffering through what appears to me to be the most abysmal and corrupt and godless political administration in my lifetime. I remain stunned over Christians who cheer it on.
Watching TV propaganda brainwashes a person with news pornography that has little to do with reality and everything to do with a tribe of old white men trying desperately to hang onto power.
Yep, I’ve been keeping busy.
