IN A REVOLT against Moses and Aaron, Korah led 250 worship leaders.
The worship leaders were Levites, assistants to the priests.
Aaron and his sons were the only priests.
But Korah seemed to think Levites should get to serve as priests, too.
Moses let God decide the matter.
He told Korah and his Levite buddies to report to the worship center with censers, containers for burning incense offerings.
Only priests were allowed to burn incense in worship.
The ground cracked open and swallowed Koran and the other top leaders.
Fire from the Lord—perhaps lightning—killed the rest of the 250.
