THE PERFECT BATTLEFIELD, as Napoleon once described it, Jezreel Valley in northern Israel isn’t just the site of dozens of famous battles—including one that killed King Saul and his sons. It’s also the most fertile farmland in the country, today specializing in wheat, cotton, and sunflowers.
Some Bible students say it’s probably where the end-time Battle of Armageddon will be fought, though many others say they doubt there will be such a battle.
Armageddon isn’t a legit word, most scholars agree. Best guess: it’s a combo word John minted for the Book of Revelation: Har Megiddo, meaning “hill of Megiddo.”
Megiddo was a hilltop fortress overlooking the valley.
Today, the valley is home to a patchwork quilt of farms, cities, and the Ramat David Israeli Air Force Base.

I can’t wait for your Illustrated Bible Dictionary — I took a look at it from my Kindle on the Amazon.Com site — they allowed me to preview about 80 Pages — all I can say is wow my friend. It is packed with so much information — I think this one will be your best to date, but I digress, I say that every time a new “Book” comes out! Love the picture — thats why I made the comment.

Thanks Wayne. I created that map with NASA data and some geeky cartography software. It’s one of my favorite maps, of the ones I’ve created so far.
