LEAN INTO IT My oldest grandson works the angles. He’s packing down the snow in my driveway until it become an icy lane for speed sledding. With schools closed, he and his little brother spent the day with Grandpa and three sleds.
I’M COMING UP FOR AIR to say Happy New Year and I have to get back to work.
More than five inches of snow fell on us overnight this week. A snow day followed. I spent part of the day with grandsons sledding down my driveway. I showed them how to do a belly smacker by running with the sled and diving into the snow. You have to have faith that you’re going to go and not bottom out on the concrete. If you bottom out, the sled stops without you.
I’m making maps again
I finished paraphrasing 1 Kings. I’m illustrating it now with maps and some photos. Once I wrap that up, I’ll create a downloadable PDF of all the maps and I’ll add them to the comprehensive Bible Atlas that many people have bought. They get free updates. There’s about 900 maps in the collection, many in 3D style.
I’m giving you one map I just added. The link will take you to 1 Kings 1, where you’ll see a few more.
A Song: I Will Thank God, He’s My Savior
Releasing February 9
If you listen to music on Spotify, could you do me a huge favor? The photo below has a link to a Spotify Pre-Save, which allows you to pre-save the song so you’ll have it added to your playlist when it comes out.
This is my first release. And I hear it’s hard to get a song on Spotify. But if there are enough pre-saves, it gets their attention.
Would you please help me get their attention?
Taylor Swift, give an old Kansas City boy a hand. I’ll stay by the phone at halftime.
The rest of you with Spotify accounts, please tap the photo. It will link you to the Pre-Save. You don’t have to unlock anything. If you have a Spotify account, all you need to give them is your email address. Then you’ll hear the song when it releases February 9, if it makes the Spotify cut. Which it will because you’re helping me.
This is a song inspired by the last words of the prophet Habakkuk. After I finished paraphrasing his words, I got up from my desk in the middle of the day and went downstairs to write the song.
I’ve never quite had a Prompting like that before. I couldn’t let it go. So here I am, an aging Bible-background writer releasing his first song 40 years later than most folks. Maybe 50.
Thanks. Peace to you.
