WELL DOGGONE, this is my third and last attempt to write this.
These days, Christians can’t write about hatefulness and lies without sounding political.
That’s because hatefulness and lies are so much on display these days.
Instead of saying what I want to say…and do say face to face to fellow Christians I know well, let me let some Bible writers remind us:
- hate and lies will lose,
- and those who embrace them or enable them will lose as well.
“There are six or seven kinds of people
the Lord doesn’t like:
Those who are too proud
or tell lies…” (Proverbs 6:16-17 CEV).“God can’t stomach liars” (Proverbs 12:22 MSG).
“What you’ve got in your heart comes out of your mouth in the words you speak” (Luke 6:45 Casual English Bible).
A letter to hate
I’ve linked this song before. But I’ll link it again. I think of the lyrics whenever hatefulness becomes the lead story of the day.
I saw you on the news today…

So true, but we live with lies almost daily. Why do so many people seem to not care about it ? Even some evangelicals do not seem bothered by it? It’s hard to understand.

Every Christian is bothered by our President — he is denounced daily by Conservative churches every Sunday as godless, depraved, and exactly what this Country deserves. I live in the Bible Belt!
Evangelicals voted for him because of the alternative — the evil they already knew. Our government does not work and with “Dear Hate” running wild — unless the other Tweedledum party runs an honorable person — we will have a Trump presidency for another 4 years! By the way, no President has ever lost a Presidency when the economy is booming and people working! I have made it a point to stay out of politics and discussions because of the stumbling block it imposes on the message of the Gospel, but Evangelicals (at least the ones I know) are disturbed by the state of our Country and the President. My hope is that Jesus comes back by 2020 so I don’t have to live through another hellish election.
