SNOW PILED ON US over the weekend, here in the Kansas City area. It wasn’t a normal snow.
It fell thick and heavy, clinging to houses, cars, and trees…pruning many trees, in fact.
I don’t usually grab a coat and a camera whenever it snows. For snow like this, I generally grab a coat and a snowblower.
I took pictures of the snow falling. I had no idea if they would turn out at all.
After the snowfall, I trudged into the nearby woods, where I often walk Buddy the Dog. (We pulled a tick out of him yesterday. How do you get a tick in this kind of weather?)
In the woods, I set my video camera on a tripod. Then I pointed it one direction after another, each time letting the camera record the scene for several minutes. I figured I might be able to use the snowy scenes as backdrops for future videos, if they turned out okay.
They’re nothing spectacular. I won’t get a call from National Geographic, requesting permission to use any of it. But the woods painted white with snow somehow reminded me of the Painter.
God’s voice thunders in marvelous ways;
he does great things beyond our understanding.
He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth,’ (Job 37:5-6).
I thought maybe it might do the same for some of you.

Beautiful picture! I wish I could walk the trail with you. I just updated my Kindle Fire HD to the 8th Generation. This will be my third Fire. The 5th Generation could not be updated anymore and had many problems, but they gave me a good deal. My first Fire all started with you and I thank you from the bottom of my heart!
